During World War Two more troops were out of action due to disease than battle injuries, with syphilis a particular cause for concern. In an effort to keep the number of cases down, Hitler ordered sex dolls to be developed and sent to troops in an effort to tempt them away from French prostitutes. The unusual discovery was made by author Graeme Donald during research for his new book, Mussolini's Barber.He said: ‘I was actually researching the history of the Barbie doll that was based on a German sex doll of the 1950s. ‘While I was researching this I came across references to Nazi sex dolls and found out that Hitler had ordered them to be made. ‘As ever, more troops were laid low by disease than by bullets. Syphilis was a problem Hitler was aware of and he was rumoured to have suffered from it himself. ‘In an attempt to try and stop the troops getting sexually transmitted diseases the Nazis started to develop sex dolls.’
While debate raged as to what hairstyle the dolls should have, in the end a simple bob was decided upon.

BELOEIL, Que. - A McDonald's restaurant near Montreal has agreed to pay a woman more than $12,000 after hot coffee spilled onto her leg, causing serious burns. Marie-Josee Piquette, a 911 operator in Beloeil, Que., was herself the focus of an emergency call on May 27 when a cardboard tray buckled at the drive-thru window, sending three scalding beverages splashing into her car. She had driven to the fast-food outlet on her lunch break to pick up coffee for two colleagues. The tray gave way as the clerk passed a salad and three beverages through the window.
"I was stressed out," Piquette told QMI Agency shortly after she reached her out-of-court settlement. "I asked someone to call the office. When I got out of my car, I had to lean on it. I was on the verge of passing out." She said no one from the restaurant called 911, and that their offer of three free coffees did little to dull the pain. Her scars are still visible five weeks after the incident.
"I had to be transported by ambulance for second-degree burns," she said.
Many-Truck spills 14 million bees on Idaho highway
ISLAND PARK, Idaho — Cleanup crews have finished clearing honey and an estimated 14 million bees that got loose after a delivery truck overturned on an Idaho highway.
Authorities say the semi-truck was hauling the bees from California to North Dakota when the driver veered off the shoulder, tipping more than 400 hive boxes and honey.Authorities reportedly began receiving 911 calls late Sunday afternoon.
Fremont County Sheriff deputies say several workers were stung during the first few hours of the cleanup Sunday.

A Texas mother delivered a 16-lb. baby boy on Friday, more than double the size of an average newborn.JaMichael Brown was born by caesarean section to mother Janet Johnson in Longsview, Tex."When they pulled the baby out, they could tell that he was huge," Johnson told local news station CBS 19. "And then they weighed him." Brown, at two-feet-long and 16 lbs. and two ounces, is being fed through a feeding tube and doctors are closely monitoring his blood sugar. He has a full head of hair.
How-Police nab runaway elephants at bus stop
BERLIN - Two runaway circus elephants in Germany surprised passersby and police by showing up at a bus stop during a brief bid for freedom, officials in Hanover said on Tuesday. Dunia, a 40-year-old Indian elephant, and her counterpart Daela, a 25-year-old African elephant, were apprehended by police near the western city of Hanover over the weekend nonchalantly munching on tree leaves and looking for all the world as if they were waiting for the bus.The pair had escaped from their enclosure at a nearby travelling circus and walked some 50 metres (165 feet) to the stop, police said.It was simply an unlucky situation for the circus,” Hanover police spokesman Heiko Steiner said. “The two elephants were quite cooperative and peaceful. Everyone was amused.”
