ABOUT 140 cyclists have shown a bit of cheek on the Melbourne leg of the World Naked Bike Ride.

Organiser Dallas Goldburg said smiling onlookers applauded the riders and some newlyweds even invited them to pose for pictures in the central business district.The cyclists left Edinburgh Gardens, North Fitzroy, at 3.30pm on Sunday and made their way through the city.

Mr Goldburg said the event aimed at raising issues such as fuel dependency.``It's a good bike-awareness thing,'' he told AAP.``It's a chance to remove that lycra and not have people have a prejudice on why people are bike-riding.

What-Naked drunk woman throws rocks, pulls own teeth, cops say

NAPLES, Fla. — A 46-year-old Naples woman was arrested over the weekend for disorderly intoxication after she allegedly stripped naked, threw rocks at some men and threatened to "beat their asses," and then started taking her teeth out, according to a Collier County Sheriff's report. The deputy who responded to reports of an intoxicated female Saturday night got quite an eyeful when he found Tina Belinda Masta sitting on a dock wrapped only in a blanket. She smelled of booze, had glassy eyes and had difficulty speaking, according to the report. And when she turned to face the deputy, she took off her blanket, revealing her birthday suit. Masta told the deputy that she had taken some of her teeth out and thrown them into a canal and asked to use some pliers. Instead of pliers, Masta got handcuffed and put in the back of a squad car. A witness told the deputy that Masta had been cursing at three men before she started throwing rocks at them. At some point she pulled off her clothes and threatened to "beat their asses," according to the report.

She also tried to break a light and a wooden fence, the witness said.

U.S. President Barack Obama has asked his staff to brew beer in the White House.The blog Obama Foodoramaa, which reports on Obama's food initiatives, said this week the president and First Lady asked their chefs to take up the popular hobby. The couple presented the first batch of the homebrew -- the White House Honey Ale -- to guests at their SuperBowl party in February. Close to 100 bottles were produced and there were no leftovers after the party.White House curator Bill Allman told the blog there is no record of beer brewing at the White House but Obama is not the first president to craft his own brews.George Washington was also a well-known homebrewer, but he never lived in the White House.While Obama won't be rolling up his sleeves himself, the fact the White House is getting involved in the homebrewing movement is being praised by people like Suzanne Schalow, co-owner of the Craft Beer Cellar in Boston.
