Red-faced traffic bosses are investigating how pranksters altered a set of pedestrian lights to show a couple making love whenever they turned green. The lights - in Nimwegen, Holland - literally stopped the traffic when passers by stopped to gawp at them during rush hour.
One officer said: 'People kept pressing the button to see the couple having sex and of course every time they did, the traffic had to stop suddenly. We had quite a lot of rear end shunts from drivers who were too distracted.'Transport officials are investigating how computer hackers managed to get into the town's traffic light system to manipulate the image.A Town Hall spokesman said: 'We are looking at who had access and opportunity.'
Wrong-Lady Liberty stamp is of Vegas replica
A stamp that was supposed to show the Statue of Liberty actually features a replica outside a Las Vegas casino, The New York Times reported Friday. The United States Postal Service admitted the mistake but said it planned to stick with its Lady Liberty "Forever" stamp.
"We still love the stamp design and would have selected this photograph anyway," Roy Betts, a post office spokesman, told the Times.
However, he added the Post Office regretted the error and was "re-examining our processes to prevent this situation from happening in the future."Stampede! C'mon — what's not to like? Hoof it over to Facebook to join the weird news herd.
..The Times said the image was taken from a photography service, but a "super-fan" of the statue spotted subtle differences and contacted Linn's Stamp News, which first ran the story.
