Franklin police said the 37-year-old Illinois man told them he spent $1,000 on lap dances from two exotic dancers at the On The Border gentlemen's club, and the women promised to visit his room at a local motel later in the morning for "on the house" lap dances, Wauwatosa (Wis.) Now.com reports.

Inappropriate -Smashbomb beer too violent

LONDON, Ont. – The suds cops at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario have stamped out a popular beer made by a Barrie, Ont., micro-brewery because they deem inappropriate the name and cartoonish label of Smashbomb Atomic IPA. Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery shared the news with angry fans on Facebook and on bartowel.com, a forum that bills itself as Ontario's premier beer resource.

"It's things like this that makes me sad to live in Ontario. Especially when I travel to the U.S. and am faced with an entire wall of unique, reasonably priced craft-brewed beer," one fan wrote on Facebook.

The brew, hoppy India pale ale, has been a smash hit on tap at London, Ont.'s Morrisey House, where it quickly sold out late last year and was re-ordered for this month.

Dumb- Police nab convict who escaped custody by fax

Spanish police caught a convict who twice escaped from custody after his wife sent fake faxes ordering his release.Police found Jose Carlos Serna, 57, on Thursday hidden in a sofa at his suburban home in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, near Madrid, police said. His wife, Gema Maria Serna, was also arrested.

After receiving a fax that appeared to be from a regional court, and two follow-up calls from his wife who claimed to be a court official, officers released Serna to a waiting taxi.Last October, the convict escaped from Valdemoro jail using the same tactic.Serna was in prison for being the ringleader of a gang who kidnapped a Spanish businessman in 2008 and held him captive.To avoid capture after the latest escape, Serna rented apartments in Madrid and a house in Boadilla, had several cell phones, and hired drivers. He told his drivers he was an Italian university economics professor.

Strong-Man uses fake leg to take down armed robber

MIDDLETON, Mass. — A Massachusetts man who used his prosthetic leg to take down a robber says he didn't have time to think, he just reacted. Stephen Cornell peered through the window of his neighborhood convenience store in Middleton on Wednesday and saw a man pointing a gun at the owner.He tells The Salem News he intended to tackle the thief when he left JC Grill & Pizza, but instead stuck out his artificial leg and tripped him.Cornell and owner Edson Andrade disarmed the thief and dragged him back into the store in a chokehold before calling police. The weapon was a pellet gun.

The 55-year-old Cornell lost his leg at age 12.

Man calls 911 to request prostitute

LEXINGTON, N.C.  — A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with calling 911 to request a hooker, according to an arrest report obtained by the Lexington Dispatch.

Records show Lonnie Michael Felts called 911 three times on Sunday. The first time he called, he requested “a hooker and an escort to get boots,” the arrestb report showed, according to the Dispatch.After an officer warned Felts about misusing the system, he made two more calls, the newspaper reported.On the third, “Felts called on 911 again for a non-emergency domestic escort,” the Dispatch reported.

ROME - A new Italian film portrays a flashy politician who loves easy sex and hates justice, but with the real prime minister embroiled in a prostitution scandal, critics say political reality is looking stranger than fiction.

The comedy “Qualunquemente” hits Italian theatres this week, just as Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi battles a growing storm over allegations that he paid for sex with prostitutes. He says the charges are absurd and dreamed up by biased magistrates.

The film revolves around “Cetto La Qualunque,” a small-time fugitive who returns to his hometown in the southern region of Calabria and runs for mayor to combat what he considers a dangerous wave of law and order sweeping the coastal town.

Flanked by half-naked women, Cetto goes on the campaign trail with the intentionally shocking slogan “I have no dream, but I like pussy.”

Off the trail, Cetto parties with topless women in a hot tub, frequents prostitutes and admiringly tells a bikini-clad woman: “Your lovely body qualifies you for town councillor.” Coming just as Italy grapples with leaked accounts of wild “bunga bunga” parties at Berlusconi’s home with prostitutes procured by a showgirl-turned regional councillor, the film has drawn sizable attention and more than a few snickers.

“The filmmaker assures us it is a ‘very funny’ film, but the truth is that there’s little to laugh at because reality — now, more than ever — has vastly overtaken fiction,” film critic Fulvia Caprara wrote in La Stampa newspaper. “The vulgar horrors on the screen are nothing compared to those we see mentioned in the accounts leaked to newspapers.
