Cool Idea- Man accused of door-to-door drug sales

A 43-year-old Halifax man has been arrested for allegedly going door to door trying to sell drugs.
Police received a call around Wednesday that a man was knocking on doors in Dartmouth, located just north of Halifax. Officers found the suspect. Police said he had a variety of prescription drugs, including hydromorphine, Valium, clonazepam and OxyContin. He also had a brass knuckle-switchblade combo, police said.  Police said the suspect caused some minor property damage while officers were booking him. The man is facing charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, four counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance, and mischief under $5,000.

Why-Man allegedly kills wife over dog poop

A Texas man told police he snapped when his dog defecated in the house, so he shot the animal - and his wife - to death.
Michael Stolz, 76, told Lewisville police on Tuesday he "had enough" with his sheppard mix dog and shot the animal in the head, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox 4.
He said his wife, Bernice Stolz, 49, started screaming and ran into the kitchen when he shot their second dog, a rottweiler, at least twice.
Stolz said he shot his wife but ran out of bullets to shoot himself, according to the document.
Police found the woman's body in the kitchen of the home when they went to the house after she didn't show up for work for two days. Officers then arrested Stolz.

Wow- Now Pole dance show in Toronto City Hall

TORONTO - The city's licensing and standards committee got a front-row seat for a pole dance Thursday.  The committee was considering a request from Coun. Frances Nunziata to review the city's adult entertainment parlour regulations.  Tim Lambrinos, executive director of the Adult

Entertainment Association of Canada, appeared before the committee to ask for changes to the city's bylaws on permitted activity in Toronto's strip clubs. To drive home his point, Lambrinos brought along Viviana to demonstrate "pole work" to the committee. Without removing any clothes, Viviana danced on a portable pole dancing stage for about three minutes. Committee chairman Cesar Palacio said the demonstration was important to understand the industry.  The councillor also commended the dance for being done in "such a tasteful way." Coun. Anthony Perruzza said he's used to seeing "flip-flops" and all kinds of acrobatics in politics, but he was impressed by the dancing demonstration.

"The acrobatics we saw here today were done with style and grace," Perruzza said.
After several public presentations that didn't include pole dancing, councillors on the committee unanimously voted in favour of the review.
Asked about the demonstration, deputy mayor Doug Holyday said it was disrespectful to taxpayers. "I don't think it is necessary, there are other places for that, but it is not here," Holyday said.

Change-Gay clubs emerge at U.S. military academies

NORTHFIELD, N.H. - When Joshua Fontanez began training as a cadet at Norwich University in 2008, he kept silent about his sexuality for fear of being expelled from the military school’s Reserve Officer Training Corps. Now after the repeal of the U.S. military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, a gay pride group he helped found is staging a “Queer Prom” and a “Condom Olympics” as part of the first gay pride week at any of the nation’s public and private military academies. Events kicked off on Monday. “It really wasn’t talked about,” said the 22-year-old Fontanez as he stood before a rainbow flag and an information booth for the Vermont school’s club that is aimed at lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, those who are questioning their sexuality, and their supporters. “’Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ was not a topic to discuss,” he said. “Now we have this change.” The groups have sprouted up at academies in the wake of the repeal six months ago, decades after similar groups first appeared at civilian universities.
About 60 gay and straight cadets at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut have formed the Spectrum Diversity Council, while others at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York and the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado have applied to form similar clubs.
