Fun-London Naked Bike Ride (video)

Baring all in front of heavy traffic, this was the eighth London World Naked Bike Ride, which set off from Hyde Park.

Approximately 1,000 naked cyclists stripped down to ride the nine miles, passing Buckingham Palace on the way, with many treating the Queen to a rendition of Happy Birthday in the process.

It was intended to be a peaceful, imaginative and fun protest, organised against the culture in which there is a dependence on oil and cars, and to promote the alternative – cycling.

Sorry-Ad in Miami paper declares Heat champs

MIAMI - The Miami Herald mistakenly ran an advertisement from a U.S. retailer in its Monday edition congratulating the Miami Heat for winning the NBA title a day after they lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the championship series. The paper ran a large ad from Macy’s Inc pronouncing “Congratulations Miami” and promoting official championship gear at its stores. The ad has pictures of a hat declaring the Heat as 2011 NBA champions as well as four different T-shirts with phrases such as “Raise Another Banner” and “Champions.”

OTTAWA — nearly nude cyclists at Saturday's World Naked Bike Ride had their undies tied in knots -- literally.

Ottawa Police, who have escorted the fleshy, safe cycling protest in years before, told the crowd at their starting point in Confederation Park to keep their pants on, or risk arrest. After outcries and disappointed shouts, the riders accepted the slight defeat and stripped down to the bare -- and legal -- minimum.

LONDON - A London council has confiscated supplies of breast milk ice cream from a specialist parlour which launched the new flavour in the British capital last week on concerns the frozen treat may spread viruses.Westminster Council said it had visited the Icecreamists restaurant in London’s Covent Garden and removed all ice cream containing breast milk for testing after being contacted by members of the public and the Food Standards Agency.“Selling foodstuffs made from another person’s bodily fluids can lead to viruses being passed on and in this case, potentially hepatitis,” Brian Connell, Westminster Council’s cabinet member for business, said on Tuesday.e added that the owner had agreed to cease making and serving the ice cream while it was being tested.Matt O’Connor, founder of the restaurant where the “Baby Gaga” ice cream made from breast milk, Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest was launched on Friday, dismissed the concerns, saying they were “complete rubbish.”

He said the breast milk — provided by women who responded to an advert on an online mothers’ forum — had undergone the same “scrupulous” screening procedures as the milk, blood and sperm found in donation banks

Bad-Pizzeria owner Nikolas Galiatsatos accused of 'food terrorism

Galiatsatos of Nina's Bella Pizzeria in Pennsylvania was arrested after police officers found a sack full of live mice had been stuffed in another eatery's bathroom.The creatures were discovered by the owner who noticed that the ceiling panel in the bathroom had been disturbed after a man, thought to be Mr Galiatsatos, had asked if he could use the facilities. He turned the bag over to police as he was worried it may contain drugs.Mr Galiatsatos was later spotted taking a rubbish bag into another pizza restaurant.The accused, who was suffering from a mouse problem which he blamed on competitors, now faces charges of animal cruelty, as well as other offences including harassment and disorderly conduct.

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. - Roll up the gurney.A Tim Horton’s restaurant inside an overcrowded hospital near Vancouver was transformed into an emergency room Monday night. Five patients were treated in the coffee shop for more than 90 minutes late Monday and early Tuesday after about 100 people checked-in to the adjacent emergency room, forcing the Tim Hortons to be used as a designated overflow area.
