Hanging surprise-Mom mistakes school essay for suicide note
A private British school has drawn the ire of a mother who thought her teenage son's creative writing assignment was a suicide note. A teacher at The Discovery Academy in Staffordshire had students write letters as if they had a terminal illness and only a few hours to live. But when Wesley Walker, 14, handed his project to his mom before heading off to bed, he sparked quite a panic. "I felt I was going to find him hanging from his bed," Vicki Walker told BBC. "I found it sick." "I want you to remember the fun times and the happy times, at my funeral make everyone were (sic) bright colours to remember my personality," the letter reads. "I know I have been a pain at the best of times but I'm with Nan and randad now so I love you and goodbye." He ends the note with: "Please be strong for me."
"He handed it to me one evening and then just went upstairs to bed," the boy's mother said. "I really felt like I was going to find him hanging from his bed and maybe he felt he couldn't take any more." A school spokesman told the broadcaster the project was "expressive art.
Good and bad-Fund for bullied grandmother tops $500Gs (video)
NEW YORK - Only 48 hours after a video of 68-year-old grandmother Karen Klein being bullied went viral on the Internet, an online fund for her has topped $500,000 US in donations. Just before noon on Friday, the funds for the bus monitor with eight grandchildren, bullied by middle school students until she cried in the video, passed half-a-million dollars in donations. The fund, on indiegogo.com, will continue to collect donations until July 20, after which the money will be given to Klein.
Shocking-Driver caught applying makeup
TORONTO - In many religions, vanity is considered a cardinal sin. But when you're holding a mirror and applying makeup while at the helm of a speeding streetcar full of passengers, it's just plain dangerous. The Toronto Transit Commission is investigating
video footage obtained by QMI Agency of a female operator applying various cosmetics while driving her streetcar at around 50 km/h. The 22-second video shows her rummaging through a clear plastic bag on her lap before applying lipstick and then holding a large mirror while applying even more makeup. According to the rider who recorded the driver's poorly timed display of vainglory, the streetcar was travelling westbound on St. Clair Ave at around 9 p.m. Wednesday. "It was shocking," the rider said (he requested his name not be used). "I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. The streetcar was going fast, and putting on makeup can't be safe. I don't want to see her lose her job, but she needs to be told, 'This is dangerous.'"

Lost-Principal Dresses as Lady Gaga, Milks Cow
A Massachusetts principal dressed as Lady Gaga and milked a cow on Wednesday after he lost a bet with his student body. In September, Justin Vernon, principal of the Roger Clapp school in Dorchester, allowed his kindergarten through fifth grade students to come up with a suitable punishment for him if they managed to read 10,000 books during
the school year. They did. "Of course they wanted to yell out the most ridiculous thing possible,” Vernon told WHDH-TV in Boston. “So milking a cow came out, dressing like Lady Gaga, there were other options that came out but this is the one that stuck.” On Wednesday, Vernon indeed was on the edge of glory, donning a platinum blonde wig and extracting milk from a cow. The students watched and screamed like paparazzi. Parents said the idea proved to be fantastic motivation. "My daughter's reading went through the charts because of it," Theresa Davis told WHDH.

Idea-Woman Made Cab Driver Wait While She Robbed a Store
Cabbie, keeps the meter running — this robbery will be quick. A Florida woman has been accused of making her taxi driver wait for her outside a convenience store while she
went inside to rob it, The News-Press reported. Cynthia Sheik took a cab to a Race Track store in Port Charlotte, Fla., and asked her driver to wait for her outside, according to deputies. But while she was busy demanding cash inside, the cabbie started worrying she was beating her fare and summoned a nearby police officer, according to The News-Press, Sheik made it out of the store with $320 — but not before triggering the alarm, and not before the clerk ran out to tell the cop Sheik had robbed the place, cops said. Sheik was arrested.

Hoax-Psychic 'told women to strip naked to increase their spiritual powers'
Psychic Karl Lang persuaded two women to strip naked at séances to enhance their spiritual powers, a court heard yesterday. The women in their 20s wanted to contact dead relatives and it was alleged Lang, 49, told them they “had to be naked as the spirits are naked”. It was also claimed that Lang told them to send him naked pictures of themselves and to carry out sexual acts as it would boost their psychic powers. His first alleged victim, 27, told the jury she wanted to contact her father, who died 10 years ago. But at their sessions she claimed Lang told her he was the “reincarnation of Jesus Christ”. Speaking via video link to avoid seeing his face, she told Newport crown court: “He reassured me what we were doing was completely normal. “I felt uncomfortable but he said that I needed to be spiritually cleansed and to do this I had to strip naked. "Karl said that if I ever told on him I would never be able to speak to my father. I was vulnerable and brainwashed – and he knew it.” Prosecutor Matthew Roberts told the jury: “It was a cruel trick. He was a sexual fraudster and he conned them.” Lang, of Newport denies 12 charges of causing women to engage in sexual activity without consent.
Tiny outfits -Miley Cyrus moons camera in Los Angeles
Ever since Miley Cyrus discovered Pilates and made us all feel hugely bad about ourselves and our bingo wings and bingo legs (can you get bingo legs?) she's been gallivanting about in teeny tiny outfits showing off the results. And why not? There's got
to be some benefit to writhing around on a sweaty mat for nine hours a day. But yesterday she wore the smallest outfit yet. This pair of shorts were so tiny they could have doubled up as a thong. And she was wearing a crop top. Why didn't she just jack in clothes altogether and opt for a bikini? Would have saved on washing. She was browsing the rails in American Apparel in LA when a brave pap got this shot. Shall we all just take a moment to say "well done, that man"? Yes we should.
