A man broke into a Victoria home early Wednesday morning and fell asleep at the dining room table, police say.  The resident woke up to loud snoring around 3:20 a.m. He got up to investigate and found a man asleep at his dining room table.

When officers arrived, they noticed "the suspect's pants were down to his ankles but fortunately in obvious preparation for the sleeping part of this sojourn, he was wearing pyjamas underneath his other clothing."Officers "detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the suspect," police said.

Police tried to wake him up, but initial efforts did little to rouse the man. Then, as one officer searched for identification, the man woke up and began pushing back. The three officers restrained the man.

Police said the man continued to struggle, and bit one of the officers on the arm. The man refused to identify himself.

Police said it appears the suspect gained access to the home through an unlocked door.

JANUARY 18--Armed with flaming tampons--yes, flaming tampons--two young Pennsylvanians attempted to blow up a vehicle after severely vandalizing it, according to police.

The bizarre January 7 incident outside a bar in Metal Township resulted in the arrest of Patricia Deshong, 25, and Quentin Deshong, 22, on a variety of charges, including attempted arson, public drunkenness, and criminal mischief. According to State Police troopers, the Deshongs seriously damaged a 2006 Ford Fusion, which had its windshield and windows either cracked or broken, was covered with dents, and had blood on the front passenger seat. The car’s hood was also open and various hoses had been disconnected. The Deshongs are pictured in the above mug shots.

As for the flaming tampons, a probable cause affidavit notes that investigators “discovered that the gas cap was removed and tampons were used to possibly ignite the gas tank." Additionally, “Tampon was used in the engine compartment where the oil fill cap is located.” Since “ashes were at the gas cap area and the oil fill cap area,” troopers concluded that the tampons had been set ablaze at each spot.

The affidavit does not indicate why the Deshongs allegedly vandalized the vehicle, which is owned by Falon Clark, a 25-year-old woman whose Facebook page still includes Patricia Deshong among her friends. Hours after her car was trashed, a message on Clark’s Facebook page noted that she was “lookin for some revenge…”

A man arrested this week in North Carolina may have stashed a .38 barrel revolver in his rectum, according to police, who reported that the unloaded 10-inch weapon was not discovered until after the suspect had been booked into a cell in the county jail.Michael Leon Ward, a 22-year-old Georgia resident, was arrested Monday after a trooper spotted him speeding. Ward, who resisted arrest, was subdued with the help of a stun gun. A subsequent search of his vehicle resulted in additional charges for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

But it was only after Ward--who is a fugitive on a murder warrant out of Atlanta--entered the Onslow County jail that sheriff’s investigators discovered what else he possessed.

According to cops, Ward, pictured at right, summoned jailers to his cell, claiming that someone was trying to kill him, and that he discovered a gun inside his cell. It was about 3 a.m. on a British Airways transcontinental flight when passengers heard an announcement that the plane was about to crash into the sea, The Telegraph reports.

But the automated message was a mistake, as crew members quickly reassured passengers."It was about 3 a.m. An alarm sounded and we were told we were about to land in the sea. I thought we were going to die," one passenger onboard told The Telegraph.  “My wife was crying and passengers were screaming. Then they played an announcement telling us to just ignore the warnings."
