ITALIAN airport police eyeing up a busty Spanish model's curves made a startling discovery - 2.5 kilograms of pure cocaine stashed as implants in her bust and backside.

The 33-year-old woman arriving in Rome from Sao Paulo in Brazil was wearing tight-fitting clothes to enhance her voluptuousness, hoping that her looks might distract the attention of border police, ANSA news agency reported today.The report said the woman drew suspicion however after giving unclear answers to questions about the reasons for her trip to Italy to an officer.The discovery was made when two female investigators conducted a strip search.

Smuggling methods through Rome's Fiumicino airport have become ever more ingenious, including cocaine found hidden inside baggage trolleys last year.

In June, police arrested traffickers who were smuggling 220 kilograms of cocaine hidden in crates of chalk statues shipped through Fiumicino.

Local press said mayor Joao Barbosa de Melo believes the police chief should lose his job, as it was sent during work hours from his work email.A statement from Coimbra municipality read: 'After receiving a message containing content inconsistent with the prestige of this town hall in the municipal email box, an address to which all municipal employees have access to, the mayor has decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings.'

The message certainly stands in contrast to that from the UK's Association of Chief Police Officers this year, which focused on the 'greatest public order challenges in the history of British policing', the riots in August.

Animal lover Tom was devastated after Ginger escaped from his back garden. He feared he would never see the Gingernut Ranger hen again, but he hadn’t counted on Twitter.

After a frantic two-day search, the 11-year-old’s mother Louise logged on to share her distress and a US follower retweeted her post.

This was seen by Catherine Inglis, the founder of PetsLocated.com, who then contacted Louise to spread the word about missing Ginger.

In a stroke of luck, one of their posters was spotted by Emma Maloret, from Tiny Horizons nursery, who recognised the hen straight away as it was cosied up on the nursery farm.

Tiny Horizons is on the opposite side of the busy A43, where Tom lives, in Moulton, Northampton.

At the pier in Virginia Beach on Wednesday where a crowd had gathered to welcome home loved ones, Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta, 23, stepped off a landing ship and planted a kissed her partner, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell, Navy spokeswoman Ensign Sylvia Landis confirmed.

Asked if they were the first same-sex couple to share the tradition, Landis said the Navy “doesn’t really keep track of stuff like that ... but it’s believed to be the first one.”

The kiss came after the U.S. military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” rule regarding homosexuals was repealed earlier this year.

Landis said it was just a normal homecoming. “It’s just news to some people because for them (gays and lesbians), they don’t have to hide it anymore, I guess. It’s just a first; that’s why it’s significant to some people.” Gaeta, of Los Angeles, told a local newspaper that she had bought $50 worth of $1 tickets in a raffle run by the Family Readiness Group.

“Traditionally, when a family comes home there’s a raffle ... that each sailor or family member buys tickets to,” Landis explained. “They draw names for winners of first hugs and first kisses.” She said money raised in the raffle would be used for a Christmas party for children of sailors.

DECEMBER 20--A South Carolina man died soon after he ingested an ounce of cocaine that had been hidden in his brother’s buttocks, according to police.

Deangelo Mitchell, 23, and his brother Wayne, 20, were being transported to jail in the back of a North Charleston Police Department cruiser on November 30 when the duo began whispering about narcotics hidden inside the older sibling.Following an earlier traffic stop, the Mitchells were arrested when a cop found three small bags of cocaine underneath a rear seat of their 2001 Chrysler.As seen on footage recorded in the back of the squad car, Deangelo Mitchell (pictured above) encouraged his brother to ingest the cocaine. The older Mitchell, who has a lengthy rap sheet, apparently was concerned that he could face life in prison if convicted of a narcotics charge. “I can’t get no more strikes,” he told his brother.

Deangelo Mitchell also directed his brother to “Eat that shit” and “Chew that shit.”At one point, Wayne Mitchell, who is handcuffed, can be seen reaching back to retrieve the cocaine from his brother. He then drops his head and begins to chew and swallow the cocaine.

Call it twin-tuition.Twin sisters Nicole and Danielle Fisher gave birth to sons 13 minutes apart in Voorhees, N.J., this week.

The fraternal twins were born 12 minutes apart 23 years ago."It just has something to do with twin communication," Nicole told the Courier Post from Virtua Hospital on Wednesday.Their due dates were more than a month apart and the pair ended up in the hospital at the same time.

Nicole said she could feel her fraternal twin's pain when Danielle went into labour at midnight on Monday.

On Tuesday morning, two weeks early, Nicole's water broke while she drove to the store.Danielle delivered Johnathan at 7:43 p.m. and Maximus arrived at 7:56 p.m.

"We've always had that twin intuition growing up, for some reason," Nicole said.

But when it went viral on YouTube some people didn't find it the least bit funny."As principal I am responsible for everything that happens in the school so, ultimately, I am the person that needs to answer for this," school principal John Wollersheim said Wednesday.Staff at the school planned a prank for the assembly during which each of the winter sports team captains were blindfolded and kissed.

Two thieves could be heard bragging about stealing DVDs and computer games from a Madison, Wis., Target after they accidentally pocket-dialed 911, police say.

Police said the two men entered the Target store Tuesday afternoon. When they got into their SUV after the heist, 911 got a call and the dispatcher listened in as they "yakked, jawed, and chortled about all they had done."In the nearly one hour call, police said the men bragged about what they stole, described the vehicle they were in and where they were going next."The men even dialogued about how police would be looking for a blue Dodge Durango without license plates, so they decided to put the plates back on," police said in a release.Police officers followed the pair and, as the two men got out of the SUV at another parking lot, arrested them.

"As one suspect got out of the SUV, he asked an officer, 'You guys tap my phone?' Both men were dumbfounded by how police knew exactly where they would be," police said. (QMI)

QUEBEC CITY - A man who smeared hand sanitizer on the bottoms of unsuspecting women in Quebec's provincial capital was sentenced Thursday to a year in jail.

Steve Germain, 33, admitted to assaulting 17 women between November 2010 and this past April, when he was arrested.

The women ranged in age from 20 to 40 and were accosted in the street, in shopping malls or at a school.

Germain then took photos of the women with his cell phone. Five women filed police complaints and 12 others came forward as a result.

How-Breast implant 'swallowed' during Pilates

An American woman who had breast implants following a mastectomy told her doctor her "body swallowed one of the implants" while she was in a Pilates class.

The 59-year-old woman told her doctor she was doing a stretch called the Valsalva manoeuvre, a report in the New England Journal of Medicine says. She wasn't in pain when it happened. "The patient was taken to the operating room, where the intact prosthesis was extracted and repositioned," the report says.

The "unstable" portion of her tissue that the implant slipped through was likely created during a recent minor surgery. It was repaired with mesh, the report says.

The study, which was published online Thursday, doesn't name the woman or say where she is from, however it notes doctors from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore treated her. (QMI)

Motorists in a British village had to brake suddenly to avoid a hailstorm of apples that rained down Monday night.

More than 100 yellowy-green apples tumbled from the sky over a main road in Keresley, Coventry, shortly after rush hour, the Guardian reported.

The small apples pelted windshields and hoods of cars. "The apples fell out of the sky as if out of nowhere," one driver told the newspaper. "They were small and green and hit the (hood) hard. "There were other cars on the road at the time, too, and everyone had to stop their cars suddenly."

Meteorologists said the apple avalanche could have been caused by a sudden vortex of air. (QMI)

The grief of two Colorado families was compounded when the bodies of their loved ones got switched, resulting in the wrong patient getting cremated, a Denver investigation has discovered. The deceased men, one who was white and the other who was black, were wearing identification wristbands at the time of the mix-up.

Robert Mitchell, of Denver, and Perry Heath, of Aurora, Colo., died at The Denver Hospice on Nov. 10, according to an investigation by Denver's 9News.com. The families began their respective funeral preparations; unbeknownst to them, many Colorado funeral homes outsource their work, and their late family members were about to go through a complex maze of third-party providers.Perry Heath was supposed to be cremated. His family arranged for a cremation through 5280 Cremation and Funeral Services of Aurora, according to 9News. Despite its name, 5280 Cremation does not perform cremations, and outsourced the work to a third-party provider.

EDMONTON - It wasn't the typical kind of vehicle a thief chooses to steal.But around 10 p.m. Wednesday, an ambulance was reported stolen from near an Edmonton hospital, and now a 55-year-old man is facing several charges.A helicopter was called in to help track the stolen ambulance's GPS system.The driver tried to elude police but after a brief chase he stopped in an industrial area.

A Swedish man escaped jail time on a marijuana possession charge when it was determined his pot was of low quality.The 35-year-old got off with just probation and a $75 fine after he admitted he'd grown the stuff but convinced the court its potency had been sapped because he'd stored it in his attic, reports The Local.He did have enough cannabis plants in his possession to warrant time behind bars, according to the report. But he argued they contained a low level of THC -- the active ingredient in pot.The court was convinced and never bothered to test the plants. (QMI)

And Scorpios and Virgos aren't wanted either, according to the job posting of a Chinese employer, reports the Chutian Metropolis Daily newspaper in Wuhan. The unusual job ad was posted at a university in Wuhan for an unidentified English-language training firm. "We don't want Scorpios or Virgos, and Capricorns," the job posting says, according to the newspaper.

A woman at the company said she's found Scorpios and Virgos to be feisty and critical.

"I hired people with those two star signs before, and they either liked quarrelling with colleagues or they could not do the job for long," the woman, identified only by her last name, Xia, said. On the other hand, the posting also specifies Capricorns, Pisces and Libras will be "prioritized." The ad, which has ignited controversy in China, does not specify why job seekers with those zodiac signs are wanted.

They plan to do their 24-hour swim with sharks in the ocean without the protection of a cage, starting tonight.hey're doing it in the name of science.On "The Early Show" from Durban, the swimmers' adviser, marine biologist and shark expert Ryan Johnson, said the "Nat Geo Wild" team intends to work toward dispelling myths about sharks.

When asked about the endeavor's danger, Johnson said safety measures are in place, such as a shark cage, medics on a boat and a helicopter on standby.

Bogus-Absent fraudster, wife gets prison

OTTAWA — A husband and wife fraud team got seven and four-year prison terms Friday for bilking the federal public servant health plan of over $620,000. Emmanuel Feuerwerker, 60, and Lise Pouliot, 69, filed bogus physiotherapy claims over a three-year period beginning in 2002.

"The claims were lies," said Judge Denis Power. "They were fraudulent. The fraud was blatant."

They were convicted in April, but when sentencing submissions took place in July, Feuerwerker had vanished, leaving Pouliot alone with a note he had slipped under the door. The note, however, was addressed to the judge. Power was nevertheless willing to sentence Feuerwerker in absentia.  He got seven years, which he will serve if Mounties can get their man. Investigators have "a couple of new leads," Crown prosecutor Suzanne Schriek told the court, but the corpulent con remains at large. Pouliot, abandoned by her common-law partner of 35 years, looked haggard and grim as she received her four-year sentence.
