Controversial -Health unit's sex superheroes prowling bars

LONDON, Ont. - Sex superheroes Captain Condom and Wonder Vag, characters from a controversial online game created by an Ontario health unit, are now live action. And bar-hopping. The two main characters in the Middlesex London Health Unit’s online game, Adventures in Sex City, are now coming to life at downtown London, Ont., bars, handing out condoms, talking to patrons about preventing sexually transmitted infections and promoting safe sex. The pair started their prowls last weekend and were a hit, a health unit spokesperson said Friday.

Captain Condom and Wonder Vag are members of the Sex Squad, characters in the sexual health question and answer game aimed at young people. The game was designed by the Middlesex London Health Unit. Despite being banned from local Catholic school classrooms, the original Adventures in Sex City game garnered international attention when it was launched in 2010. A sequel was released this year.
Unlucky-Father kills intruder, learns it's his son

A 15-year-old Connecticut boy is dead after his father unknowingly shot him dead. At around 1 a.m. Thursday, a woman in New Fairfield, Conn., heard an intruder break into her home and called her brother, Jeffrey Giuliano, who lives next door, the Danbury News-Times newspaper reported. Giuliano arrived with a handgun and confronted the all-black-clad intruder who was wearing a ski mask, the newspaper reported. The
intruder lunged and Giuliano shot and killed him. Police say the intruder was holding a weapon. But after the intruder's ski mask was removed, Giuliano realized the intruder was his adopted son, Tyler Giuliano. Jeffrey Giuliano is a Grade 5 schoolteacher. New Fairfield First Selectman John Hodge told the News-Times the community hopes police can determine what happened. "Everybody is just shaking their heads over it," he said. "We're hoping the police can get to the bottom of it." New Fairfield is a town near the New York-Connecticut border about 97 km southwest of Hartford.
Really-Bras can hold weapons, cop's trial told

OTTAWA — Female prisoners can turn the underwire of their brassiere into a weapon or hide a knife, razor blade or crackpipe in the cups, a constable testified Friday at the trial of an Ottawa police officer. The fact the woman Sgt. Steven Desjourdy is accused of sexually assaulting started kicking an officer before her upper body was searched over her clothes, made him think she had something hidden there, Special Const. Michael Bednarek testified. "We've seen it before when someone becomes active resistant," he said. "They'll twist away, they'll turn, trying to get you to not search that area."

Desjourdy has pleaded not guilty to a charge of sexual assault after he allegedly cut the back of the woman's bra and shirt with scissors and left her topless in an Ottawa cell for hours in September 2008. But Bednarek said after the woman kicked a female special constable - who was too injured to continue the search - she was grounded facedown and had to be searched immediately. Officers are taught that people can suffocate while being held down, he said.    The woman could not be safely placed in a cell without a search for potential weapons she could use to hurt herself or them, Bednarek said.
Crazy-Man was trying to eat dog alive: Witnesses

PEMBROKE, Ont. -- Witnesses allege the man who viciously attacked a dog on a downtown street early Wednesday was trying to eat the animal alive. Police confirmed Thursday that a young man has been apprehended, as details about the bizarre case began emerging some 24 hours after rumours of the heinous incident shocked the community. Police admitted the man, who was not identified, to the Pembroke Regional Hospital, under provisions of the Mental Health Act.
The dog, described as a female pit bill, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and remains in the care of animal control. While authorities are saying little, eyewitnesses are recounting a terrifying scene in the early morning hours of Wednesday at the intersection of Pembroke Street West and Christie Street. A woman living nearby said she and her husband were awakened by the mournful howls of an animal in distress. Looking out the front window, the couple saw a man wearing only a pair of boxer shorts and lying on top of a dog. She said she raced outside and saw the man biting the dog's back and head.

Surprise-Man returning home find NAKED woman using his shower
A man who returned home to find a naked woman greeting him at his front door says she was homeless and caught in the act of using his shower. Randy Kizer said he was walking up to his front steps in Sacramento, California on Tuesday when 24-year-old Jennifer Burgess exited his front door, hair wet and wearing his son's army green bathrobe.'She answers my front door and she goes, "I can explain,' Mr Kizer told Fox40. Mr Kizer said he didn't dare follow the woman inside his home when she asked to go

change - which he said he eagerly hoped she would do - instead fearing there could be more intruders inside.'I go, "Are you homeless?" and she goes, "Yeah,"' Mr Kizer mimicked the young woman with a hesitant voice.

Later showing a CBS news reporter around the bathroom she used, including the camouflage-coloured bath robe and a bar of soap, he said: 'It was like I was intruding into her home, not the other way around.' After allowing the woman to return from dressing, Mr Kizer said he noticed she had pockets that appeared quite swollen on her. With police at the scene cuffing Burgees, they discovered she had planned to walk away with a bit more than some wet hair

PHOENIX - Police have arrested an Arizona man who filmed his 16-year-old nephew walking city streets dressed in a sheet and carrying a fake grenade launcher in an apparent bid to test police responses after the Denver theater shooting, authorities said on Wednesday. Michael David Turley, 39, was arrested on Monday over the making of the video, in which an unidentified narrator says he aims to “find out how safe I really am” in Phoenix following the July Denver shooting that killed 12 people and wounded

58.  The video depicts a man with a fake grenade launcher walking around a Phoenix intersection in what appears to be a blue sheet with dark material covering his head and face. The filmmaker said it took 15 minutes for police to respond.
'Weird-Frozen Dead Guy' festival to go on

DENVER - The frozen corpse that has inspired a Colorado town’s whimsical “Frozen Dead Guy Days” celebration may soon be put on ice somewhere else, but festival organizers said the body’s removal will not have a chilling effect on the annual event. “We will continue on whether or not Bredo Morstoel is here,” festival owner Amanda MacDonald s aid Wednesday of the man whose body has been packed in dry ice outside Nederland, Colorado, since 1993.

A financial dispute between Morstoel’s grandson, Tryve Bauge, and the man hired to replenish the dry ice on a monthly basis, Bo Shaffer, has led to Bauge threatening to move his grandfather’s body out of Colorado. Each month for 18 years, Shaffer has hauled 1,700 pounds (770 kg) of dry ice - c arbon dioxide in solid form - to a remote shed above Nederland to keep the corpse of Morstoel at minus-24 degrees Fahrenheit (minus-31 degrees Celsius) and in a state of cryonic suspension. But Shaffer said he quit after Bauge refused to pay for the rising costs of fuel and ice, which has made the endeavor unprofitable.
Lucky -NFL call means third highest Proline payout -$725,274

BRANTFORD, ONT. - There's one person in the area who is happy that NFL replacement officials botched a last-second call to give the Seattle Seahawks a victory over the Green Bay Packers Monday night. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. has confirmed a Proline ticket purchased in Brantford is worth $725,274 thanks to a perfect 15-for-15 prorogation of the NFL's third week. The OLG said the ticket has yet to be validated, and as a result, the winner's name has not been released. The windfall is the third highest Proline payday. The most a Proline ticket has paid out was $874,857 last December, followed by $759,465 won in October 2010.

Replays indicated that Packers cornerback M.D. Jennings had possession of a game-ending pass in the end zone, but referees awarded the catch to Seattle’s Golden Tate after the two wrestled for the ball on the turf.
Nice-Toronto school board web link offers kinky sex advice

ORONTO - An astounding link on the Toronto District School Board website which entices children to experiment sexually with vegetables has a Christian group calling for a criminal investigation.  It has a lot of others vexed, perplexed and scratching their heads. Who is behind the school board’s curtain pulling these curious strings? In the interest of protecting children, an outraged Dr. Charles McVety, president of Canada Christian College, has written Attorney General John Gerretsen and does not hold back on his animus and disgust.
“The TDSB — through its website — is corrupting Ontario’s children with extraordinary explicit instruction,” wrote McVety in a letter sent Wednesday. “It is the responsibility of the Ontario government to protect our children. According to Section 172 of the Criminal Code of Canada, it is an indictable offence to ‘endanger the morals of the child.’” Not one adult — no matter how liberal — I spoke with Wednesday seemed to have any background, knowledge, experience or reference point concerning sex with vegetables. Yet, on the TDSB site, you will find — under the heading Coalition for Positive Sexuality — a link called “Just Say Yes, pro sex” which champions encounters with vegetables and other experimental options.
“Most of us learn that our bodies, and our sex, are things to be ashamed of,” states the link. “Most of us learn that sex means a man on top of a woman, and that the only other choice is abstinence. But sex can be lots of things ... women have sex with women, men have sex with men, women have sex with men — and sometimes the best sex is with yourself!” It then says: “There are lots of safe and fun ways to get off, which you probably won’t learn in school ... don’t feel like you have to do everything on this page, but don’t feel like anything is automatically off limits either.”
It describes how an individual “could suck, kiss, touch, bite, fondle, nibble, squeeze and lick someone’s body, nipples, calves, toes, neck” and other areas. It talks of masturbation in front of the mirror, acting out fantasies and using sex toys. It was already way over the top to find a link like this on the TDSB website. But it’s the next passage that caught the eye of the eagle-eyed Blazing Cat Fur blogspot that has McVety and others concerned. “Play with your own or someone else’s a-- or vagina, put your fingers, dildoes, vegetables, or butt plugs into them,” is what it states.
Wow-Rare $2 bill expected to go for $20,000 at auction

TORONTO -- Whoa — inflation at 10,000 times original value! A $2 bill with a rare number-letter combination is expected to fetch up to $20,000 at a two-day Toronto auction.  The 1986-series bill with an AUH-prefix — the three letters before a seven-digit serial number — is one of only five known, said Canadian Paper Money Society vice-president Jared Stapleton, whose Toronto Coin Expo runs Friday and Saturday at the Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge St. Geoffrey Bell Auctions is running a coinciding

coin and currency sale on Thursday and Friday. Some people are content with low-grade older bills, but condition is often rough because “you’re dealing with a paper product and they can get damaged and soiled easily,” Stapleton said Wednesday. Anyone seeking currency and coins for investment should “collect the best.” Such guidelines can pay off.  A 1911 $500 bill featuring Queen Mary, wife of King George V, was saved from being shredded with old documents when the late owner’s relative spotted what turned out to be one of only three survivors. It sold for $322,000 four years ago. Bell sold a 1925 King George V $500 note sold in 2010 for $235,750.
What-Hotel worker arrested after being found 'having sex with a sofa'

A hotel worker has been arrested after being found 'having sex with a sofa’. Gerard Streator, 46, was allegedly seen bending over an abandoned yellow settee Waukesha city, Wisconsin. Police officer Ryan Edwards, who reported the incident, said he saw a man "thrusting his pelvic area" against the sofa. Realising he had been spotted; the man ran away but was later caught by the officer. Streator has been charged and could face up to nine months in jail and a £7,000 fine if found guilty.

Why-Adults may paddle students of opposite gender in Texas district

SAN ANTONIO, TEX. - School administrators will be allowed to paddle students of the opposite sex under a rule approved unanimously Monday night by the school board in the North Texas community of Springtown. Superintendent Michael Kelley said Tuesday the new policy would ensure both male and female students are treated equally since there are not enough administrators of both genders in some schools in Springtown, which has a population of about 2,600. Under the previous policy, corporal punishment could only be carried out by an administrator who was of the same gender as the student. The new policy says that a school official of the same gender as the student must be in the room where the paddling takes place and that parents must provide written permission for their child to be paddled. The punishment involves striking students on their clothed rear with a wooden paddle.
Why-'Soccer Mom Madam' pleads guilty in New York

NEW YORK - Anna Gristina, the accused Manhattan madam whose case garnered lurid headlines in the New York media, pleaded guilty Tuesday in state court to one count of promoting prostitution.  The "Soccer Mom Madam," as she was dubbed by the tabloids, is expected to be sentenced in November to time served by Acting Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan. She spent four months in jail after her February arrest. With her family in the front row of the courtroom, Gristina told Merchan she wanted to change her plea to guilty, then turned and mouthed to her husband, Kelvin Gorr, "Okay?" Gorr nodded, hugging their young son.

Officials spent five years investigating the case, using wiretaps and other methods of surveillance. But it only resulted in one criminal count against Gristina. The Manhattan district attorney's office said Gristina ran a high-end brothel for wealthy clients out of a Manhattan apartment and was captured on tape boasting of connections inside the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the district attorney's office and the police department. Assistant District Attorney Charles Linehan told Merchan that prosecutors had been

unable to substantiate her claims of ties to law enforcement. "We are left with a straightforward promoting prostitution case," he said. "That is all." Gristina had refused to consider a plea deal, in part because she could face deportation to her native Scotland for a crime of moral turpitude. Her lawyer, Norman Pattis, said she would fight to stay in the United States. As part of her plea, Gristina admitted in court that she arranged for a tryst between two prostitutes she employed and a man, known to her as "Anthony," inside an apartment on the Upper East Side. The man was an undercover police officer, according to court documents.
Bad-Teen allegedly chained, sexually assaulted

Police in Nova Scotia are on the hunt for two men accused of forcibly confining and sexually assaulting a teenage boy. An Upper Chelsea resident called police at 7:15 p.m. Monday to report that there was a young man in need of assistance. RCMP responded and found that the 16-year-old boy had been forcibly confined in a house on Faulkner Rd. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Local media reported the boy showed up at an older woman's house Monday night wearing chains and begging for help. The woman, a widow, didn't let the boy inside but said she'd call police. "And he said, 'Don't call the cops. They'll hurt me,'" referring to his captors, a neighbour who asked not to be named told the Chronicle Herald.
Investigators have charged David James Leblanc, 47, and Wayne Alan Cunningham, 31, with forcible confinement and sexual assault.
Wow-Chinese Popstar, 24, falls for model, 12
A 24-year-old popstar and a 12-year-old model have apparently fallen for one another, sending social networks in China and around the world into a frenzy. Akama Miki, 12, declared her love to Zhang Muyi, twice her age and more importantly an adult, and it

appears the feeling is mutual. Miki's a pre-teen sensation in China with a huge following - about 500,000 on the Chinese social network Weibo - and only follows one person back: Muyi. The two have posted lovey-dovey posts to each other and photos of themselves together on Weibo. While there’s no suggestion of a physical relationship, Muyi wished her a happy 12th birthday and vowed to wait "four more birthdays" until Miki is a legal age.Miki responded: "I will always love you and you will be my darling forever!!!", attaching a couple of love hearts at the end. The photo of the pair touching fingers by the water at night, expressing a kiss, has created shockwaves. Web sceptics have been quick to call the relationship a fake and a publicity stunt. Still, why would a 24-year-old pretend to be in love with a child to boost his profile? If you take away "popstar" and "model", you're just left with a 24-year-old man declaring his love for a 12-year-old. Alarm bells are ringing.

Strange-Victoria's Secret Geisha Lingerie Sparks Controversy

It takes hundreds of employees, thousands of hours and millions of dollars to launch a mass market lingerie line. And one blogger to take it all down. "I never thought they would pull the Geisha outfit off the market," Nina Jacinto tells Shine. "I imagine there were a number of factors that went into that decision." Two weeks ago, Jacinto, a 26-year-old Bay Area blogger and non-profit development manager, most likely became one of

those factors. It all started here. "I saw a link to [Victoria's Secret's Go East] line on the blog, Angry Asian Man," she says. "Hooray for exotic orientalist bull----," wrote the blogger who included a link to the "Asian-inspired" lingerie line's centerpiece: "The Sexy Little Geisha," a mesh teddy that comes with an obi belt, chopsticks and a fan. Immediately Jacinto sat down to write an insightful post on why she found the outfit, and the line in general, offensive. "It's the kind of overt racism masked behind claims of inspired fashion and exploring sexual fantasy that makes my skin crawl," she wrote in article published September 6 on the blog Racialicious, a site for commentary on the intersection of culture and race.

"There's a long-standing trend to represent Asian women as hypersexualized objects of fantasy," wrote Jacinto. She also took umbrage with the lingerie description as "your ticket to an exotic adventure" and the fact that none of the models for the collection were of Asian descent. "The lack of Asian women here simply exposes the deep-rooted nature of the Orientalist narrative, one that trades real humanness for access to culture," she wrote. "Besides, it can only feel sexy and exotic if it's on an "American" body—without the feeling of accessing something foreign or forbidden, there can be no fantasy." One week after Jacinto posted her piece, the feminist website Bust picked up on the story. When the Bust reporter went to check out the teddy described in Jacinto's story, it had disappeared from the site. According to Bust, a Victoria's Secret rep suggested the teddy had simply "sold out." A week after that, The Frisky's Jessica Wakemen wrote about the offending and mysteriously missing teddy in question. "Considering the complicated history of geishas, repurposing the "look" for a major corporation to sell as role-playing lingerie seems a bit tasteless," she wrote.  By the afternoon, major news outlets like the Huffington Post began calling blogger backlash to Victoria's Secret a "controversy." The Daily Mail noted that the teddy and the Go East line in its entirety had been removed from the company website and replaced with the main product page.
