Funny-'Boobs for Beads' contest not tacky: Organizer

While the ladies at Mardi Gras hit
Bourbon Street
, showing their breasts in exchange for beads, the women of Buffalo, N.Y., will be collecting beads to win a new pair of breasts.
In a new twist on the Mardi Gras tradition, a group of bars in downtown Buffalo were giving away a free breast augmentation surgery to whoever collects the most beads on Fat Tuesday.
"I wanted an attention grabber," Sean Coughlin, manager of Bayou nightclub, told the Buffalo News, adding: "As bad as the promotion sounds, I don't want it executed in a tacky way."
But not everyone thinks Boobs for Beads is a good idea, and it's created debate in the Queen City.
Ruth Meyerowitz, a retired University of Buffalo professor of women's studies, called the contest "dehumanizing for both men and women" in the paper. One commenter on Facebook wrote: "I dont want to sound like a Debbie downer... but you could spend that money on a needed charity."
The organizers don't explain how patrons win the beads, only that they will be handed out at all 13 participating bars. No boobs? No problem. Men can participate, too, and the winner can choose a tummy-tuck, nose job or other cosmetic procedure instead.

Wow-24th drunk driving offence a Canadian record?

what's believed to be a Canadian record, a 67-year-old Quebec man was convicted Tuesday of his 24th drunk-driving offence. Yvon Gingras of St-Ubalde, Que., was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to impaired driving, breach of conditions and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test. Gingras bought a car despite a driving ban. Outraged neighbours, aware of his prior convictions, formed a committee to track his movements. One neighbour spotted Gingras behind the wheel last June 20 and called police. The unlicensed driver refused to submit to a breathalyzer test. Officers searched his car and found eight large bottles of beer as well as a full bottle of vodka. "The defendant clearly poses a risk to public safety and he has no respect for the law and court orders," Judge Alain Morand told a sentencing hearing. Gingras, initially barred from driving until 2021, has now been slapped with a lifetime driving ban.
He was also ordered to provide a DNA sample and his new car was confiscated.

Nice-Test tube hamburger coming this fall

There are organic burgers, burgers sandwiched between doughnuts, and $100 burgers.
Joining the crowded hamburger market this fall is the first burger made from stem cells.
A group of scientists at Maastricht University in the Netherlands has grown small pieces of muscle about 2 cm long, 1 cm wide and about 1 mm thick, BBC News is reporting. They are off-white and resemble strips of calamari in appearance. These strips will be mixed with blood and artificially grown fat to produce a hamburger by the autumn. Prof. Mark Post, who leads the team, estimates the cost of producing the hamburger will be around $300,000 but adds that "once the principle has been demonstrated, production techniques will be improved and costs will come down." Post said he was even planning to ask British celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal to cook it.
"The reason we are doing this is not to show a viable product, but to show that in reality we can do this," Post told BBC News. "From then on, we need to spend a whole lot of work and money to make the process efficient and then cost

Video-Finnish President’s Husband Caught Eyeing Danish Princess’ Breasts

What does a man do when caught red-eyed staring at a woman’s cleavage?  And what does a man do when that woman is not his wife, the president of a nation, but the wife of a prince?  And how does a man respond when his indecent exposure is caught-on-camera and broadcast to the world?
Those are all questions now facing Pentti Arajarvi, the “first gentleman” of Finland, married to Finnish president Tarja Halonen.Arajarvi, 63, was seated next to Princess Mary of Denmark, wife of the Crown Prince of Denmark, at a dinner he attended in Copenhagen with his wife last month.
At some point during the dinner, Arajarvi became more enthralled with his 23-years-his-junior

seatmate than the meal or the program itself, and began to stare at the princess’s chest.
Arajarvi’s fixed gaze was not only busted by the princess in an awkward moment, his ogling was also caught on camera, the footage of which was released to the world by The Sun newspaper this week. The video shows Arajarvi abruptly lifting his gaze at the moment the princess spots his eyes and adjusts her dress. To make matters worse, the dinner the two were attending was hosted by Princess Mary’s mother-in-law, the queen of Denmark.Though local media reaction to Arajarvi’s has been unforgiving, the Sun gives him one possible out, writing, “In his defense, he may have simply been admiring Princess Mary’s necklace.”Arajarvi’s wife, Halonen, is the first female to hold office of president in Finland.
