Top 5-Train over an hour late due to signalman trapped in toilet
Train passengers were held up for more than an hour when a railway signalman became trapped in an outside toilet. The signalman nipped away from his post to answer the call of nature but was left flushed with embarrassment when the brick outhouse’s lock
jammed and he was stuck inside. The driver of the Hereford to London service heard the hapless worker’s cries for help after he was forced to stop his train because he could not make radio contact. Colleagues eventually managed to set the signalman free by forcing the door open with a crowbar. The 3.13pm service was delayed during the rescue near Worcester Foregate Street station.
Top 4-Disqualified driver switches seats - while driving (smart or stupid)
SAULT STE. MARIE -- A disqualified driver, talking on a cellphone, tried to switch seats with a passenger while his vehicle was moving Saturday, police say. An officer spotted the man driving a black Dodge Ram pickup and talking on a cellphone at about 8:50 a.m. He turned his vehicle around to stop the truck and saw “a flurry of activity in the car,” said Staff Sgt. Ken Hruska of Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. The man allegedly picked up “a much smaller female” and put her in the driver's seat while he slid over to the passenger's seat. The truck, while slowing down, kept moving and started to swerve towards the centre line, police said. The officer moved his cruiser to prevent other eastbound traffic from colliding with the truck before stopping it. Lucas Leyenhorst, 25, of Red Deer, Alta., was charged with driving while disqualified and distracted driving.
Top 3-Man cured of blood addiction
DENIZLI, Turkey, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- A Turkish man whose symptoms were described as clinical vampirism has recovered following two years of treatment, a doctor said. Dr. Direnc Sakarya of Denizli Military Hospital and his research team said the 23-year-old man, who was the subject of a report in the Journal of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics in 2011, no longer suffers from the post-traumatic stress disorder and dissociative identity disorder that led to his cravings for human blood, Today's Zaman reported Monday. Sakarya said the man's vampire-like activities began with drinking his own blood and eventually led to several arrests for stabbing and biting others to drink their blood. The team said the man's illness stemmed from traumatic events including the death of his 4-month-old daughter from illness and witnessing a friend kill a man by cutting off his head and penis.
The man would emerge from his blood-craving states with no memory of his actions, the doctors said. "Possibly due to 'switching' to another personality state, he was losing track during the 'bloody' events, did not care who the victim was anymore, and remained amnesic to this part of his act," the report said.
Top 2-How cellphone rings in person rectum- Cool Idea
A Sri Lankan inmate was busted trying to smuggle a cellphone into prison when it rang from inside his rectum, a hospital official told Agence France Presse. Guards at the maximum-security Welikada jail in Colombo were searching the 58-year-old convict before he was to be put behind bars when the cellphone went off. The inmate was taken to hospital for the removal of the device. "Unfortunately for him, the phone rang at the wrong time and guards knew he had a phone at the wrong end," a hospital official who didn't want to be identified said, AFP reported. The prisoner was released from hospital two days later and returned to the jail on Friday to serve a 10-year sentence for theft.
Top 2.1-Women do not need to fear bad first dates anymore thanks to new insurance plan
If in the future you’re taken to a sewage station, a prison or a coffin factory on a first date you may be able to get your money back after a new insurance product was launched. These awkward first meeting places are just a few of the locations people have said they’ve met up at, a Confused.com survey has revealed. Hundreds of respondents admitted to being disappointed at locations they had been whisked off to on a first date, including two members of the public who said they were taken to strip clubs and a number of others who were upset at being taken to meet their date’s mother. Another unpopular but frequent location for first meetings was McDonald’s and some people also complained about having to accompany dates to weddings.
In an attempt to help women, who are usually the victims of poor first dates, an online insurance company is trialling a special type of insurance. Sharon Flaherty, head of content at Confused.com, said: ‘Single women pay up to £400 more every year for car insurance than their married counterparts and, in a bid to reduce the cost of finding their perfect partner, we’ve introduced date insurance, a way for women to claim for the cost of disastrous dates.’Maybe the insurance will mean women aren’t so disappointed when their dates decide to take them to a local cafĂ© on their first meeting.
Top1-Porn Star Teaches at University of Illinois-Wow hot teacher
A University of Illinois residence hall reportedly brought in a former porn star to educate student residents in a week-long sex education seminar. The program, which
began Feb. 3, featured former porn star Annie Sprinkle and ended Thursday with an "orgasm workshop," according to a blog post by campusreform.org. The program, hosted by resident community Unit One, included speeches by Sprinkle about life as a porn star, a presentation on "Eco-sexology," a free sidewalk sex Clinic, and a screening of "Annie Sprinkle's Amazing World of Orgasm." The week reportedly involved hands on, but not nude, participation from U of I students and was funded with student fees paid by residents of the community, the blog reported. Sprinkle, an internationally known artist, visits colleges around the country to teach sex education and her work is frequently used in educational programs and equal rights campaigns. This seminar is not the first time she has presented at U of I, as she spoke at the school nearly two years ago, but as she expanded her sex talks to the campus' Allen Hall at the end of the week, community members and students had mixed reactions to the racy films and clips, the Daily Illini reported.
