Really-McDonald's Diet Healthy (Runner sets personal-best)

Before he made it to the starting line of the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday, Joe D'Amico started the day off with a McDonald's breakfast, just as he had in the 30 days leading up to the race. Then, he ran the marathon - all 42 kilometres of it - in 2 hours, 36 minutes and 13 seconds, setting a personal-best time and placing 29th overall.
"I couldn't ask for a better run on a tough course in difficult conditions," he told the Palatine Patch newspaper, which first reported his challenge to eat a McDonald's-only diet, run the marathon and raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
D'Amico made headlines earlier this month when he announced his pledge to eat only at the fast food chain in the 30 days leading up to the race."My diet is probably closer to the average American than the average marathoner," he says on his blog. "While I try to watch my portion size, my selections tend to be based more on convenience and taste, rather than nutritional value."As of Sunday, he had raised more than $27,000, according to his blog. He'd also eaten three Filet-o-fish sandwiches, one Angus burger, 23 hamburgers and 91 hotcakes, among other McDonald's menu items.

And despite the constant diet of fast food, D'Amico's cholesterol was down to 158 from its pre-challenge level of 186, according to pre-race bloodwork.

Court backs couple over bad wedding video

A British couple have won a court battle against their wedding videographer for producing a video that failed to capture the iconic moments of their big day and instead featured footage of guests' feet.Martin and Heidi Shubrook were overcome with emotion when they watched their wedding day video, U.K. newspaper the Daily Mail reports.
"When we got the disk back from him I knew it was going to be awful," Heidi Shubrook told the newspaper. "When it first came on it had pictures of people's feet on the floor and then there was shots of people who weren't even at our wedding."It wasn't edited at all, the only thing he had done with the video was to fade it in and out. I was in tears watching it back."

Man busted for polygamy after unfriending wife No. 1

It's probably a good idea to unfriend one wife on Facebook before marrying another. Generally speaking, a divorce would also be appropriate.
Such was not the case when Richard Leon Barton married a Grand Rapids, Mich. woman several years after skipping out on his first wife, a Rhode Island resident, according to local news website Michigan Live. Barton had been in and out of prison, and had fled Rhode Island to evade parole, but he still managed to stay "friends" with his first wife, at least on Facebook.Apparently the Rhode Island wife got suspicious when Barton unfriended her on the social network. She poked around and found wedding photos of Barton and his new wife, linked to other Facebook profiles, such as those of Barton's friends and family members. Duly alarmed, the estranged (but still married) wife called the police, and Barton was charged with polygamy.According to Michigan Live, the second wife thought Barton was divorced. "She had absolutely no idea what was going on," the site quotes Michigan state police detective Denise Bentley as saying.

Polygamy is not a serious crime, but for a repeat offender, it's certainly bad news.
