Nice-Girls urged to strip to support Putin as President

An online campaign has been launched in Russia urging young women to support Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in a presidential vote by taking off their clothes, a lawmaker’s site showed on Sunday. Called “Putin’s Army”, it features a video of a blonde student called Diana who struts along Moscow’s streets in high heels and a black suit before scrawling “I will tear my clothes off for Putin” on a white top in red lipstick and starting to undo her clothes. Inviting girls to strip off for Putin for the chance of winning an iPad2, the campaign comes ahead of the March 2012 presidential vote. Putin was president between 2000-2008 before handing the reins to his protege Dmitry Medvedev. Idely seen as Russia’s key decision-maker, Putin may return to the Kremlin next year. “The goal: For Putin to be president!” said a statement on its page on social networking site vkontakte.ru/armiaputina, Russia’s answer to Facebook.

Unusual-Heavily pregnant mum-to-be seeks advice over furniture polish craving

The unusual craving means the mother-of-one has developed an urge to eat it two or three times a day and she’s already polished off three cans. ‘I can’t explain why I like it, I think it has a lot do with the texture and how it feels in my mouth,’ said the 26-year-old. ‘I normally spray a bit on my fingers and lick it off or spray a bit on the duster and suck it.’ Not surprisingly, her partner, bricklayer Gavin Wallis, 27, isn’t too keen on her dirty habit. She said: ‘I’d be polishing the TV and turn my back to him to have a taste. When he found out he wasn’t happy.’ Otherwise Ms Veness has a squeaky-clean lifestyle – she doesn’t smoke and rarely drinks. But her doctor confirmed that the teaching assistant, from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, suffers from an eating disorder called Pica – an urge to eat things that aren’t food.

Petra Lang blames sat nav for driving van into Lake Grundlsee
Petra Lang, 27, explained to rescuers that she had typed into her sat nav that she wanted to go to the lake - but the machine took her request a little too literally.According to emergency services personnel, Ms Lang was looking for a shortcut to reach her destination (which, to be fair to her, she did reach). However, after being briefly unsighted by undergrowth, she ended up going straight into the water. Not enough has been made of what exactly she was doing when the van was being driven straight into the lake, of course... 'She insisted the satnav system was to blame,' one rescuer explained.

'She said she typed in that she wanted to go to the lake - but got closer than she intended.'

Ms Lang escaped safely enough before firefighters arrived to haul the stricken vehicle from the water, amid fears that it could pollute the bathing lake near the town of Bad Aussee in western Austria.

How- Embryos implanted in the wrong woman

A Hong Kong fertility clinic has offered two women compensation after admitting it implanted the embryos of one in the other by mistake.

Victory ART Laboratory realized the error quickly and removed the embryos from the wrong woman, reports the BBC. The embryos were discarded.

Hong Kong's Council on Human Reproductive Technology (CHRT) found that the mistake was "due to failure of a junior embryologist to check the labelling of the embryos," it said in its incident report released on the weekend. The IVF clinic informed both women and gave them counselling. It also reassigned the junior staffer to other duties and initiated a "double-checking mechanism," said the CHRT.The council decided not to suspend the clinic's licence because the error was "human rather than systematic" and it was satisfied the clinic had taken the necessary steps to rectify the matter.
