Why-Teen charged with Hollywood film style theft stunt

SAN RAFAEL, California - A California teenager arrested for a drive-by shooting has also been charged with stealing a Lamborghini sports car owned by a celebrity chef in an acrobatic heist last year worthy of a Hollywood film stunt. Max Wade, 17, of San Rafael, was arraigned on Tuesday as an adult in Marin County Superior Court on two counts of attempted murder as well as commercial burglary and other charges related to a spectacular car-theft escapade last year.
In March 2011, San Francisco police said a man standing on the roof of a high-end automobile dealership rappelled into the building's showroom and roared off in a canary yellow Lamborghini Spyder Gallardo, worth an estimated $200,000. Video cameras captured the convertible, owned by celebrity chef Guy Fieri, a few days later crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.
The theft went unsolved for more than a year until detectives investigating an unrelated drive-by shooting north of San Francisco unexpectedly discovered the stolen car late last week parked in a storage locker along with the motorcycle used in the shooting, sheriff's Sergeant Mark Hale said.
It was a nice surprise, Hale said. Wade is accused of opening fire on a pickup truck occupied by a young couple on April 13. The teenager was carrying a loaded handgun when he was arrested on Saturday by police who had staked out the storage locker, Hale said.

Survivor-Detained student forced to drink own urine

A California university student who was left in a holding cell for nearly five days without food or water said he drank his own urine to survive.
Daniel Chong, a 23-year-old student at the University of California San Diego, was accidentally left in a Drug Enforcement Agency holding cell for 4 1/2 days, NBC San Diego reported.
Chong told the station he was at a friend's house celebrating 4/20 — a day marijuana enthusiasts devote to getting high — when an agent came in and raided the place.
He said he was questioned at the DEA facility and then told he could go home — even offered a ride. But instead he says he was left in a cell for nearly five days without any contact and without food or drink. He told NBC he was forced to drink his own urine to survive.
He said he tried to make noise to alert people in the facility of his presence in the cell, but his cries went unanswered until the fifth day. "That was when I really felt my life go and for some reason they heard me that time and turned on the light and found me," he told NBC. "At first I was just relieved to be alive, 100%. I started realizing what happened to me. They told me I was in kidney failure, but for me, I just, I couldn't focus my eyes. I was pretty incoherent at the time, too."

What she was thinking-Mom Busted for Taking Girl in Tanning Booth?

MAY 1--A New Jersey woman has been charged with felony child endangerment after she allegedly took her five-year-old daughter into a tanning booth, where the child suffered serious burns. Patricia Krentcil, 44, was hit yesterday with a felony count approved by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. She was arrested last week by the Nutley Township Police Department.
The investigation of Krentcil began after cops were summoned to the elementary school attended by the kindergartener, who was in pain due to what appeared to be a severe sunburn. The subsequent probe determined, cops allege, that Krentcil took her child into a tanning booth at a Nutley parlor a week prior to her April 24 arrest. State law bars children under the age of 14 from using a tanning facility. Investigators contend that Krentcil brought her daughter into a stand-up tanning booth without the knowledge of parlor employees.

Smart or dumb-Woman Nabbed at Airport with Bags of Cocaine in Hair

Her suspiciously heavy hairstyle was the cops' first big clue.A 25-year-old woman was arrested trying to board a plane at the Dubai airport when inspectors noticed a suspicious bulge in her hair, Emirates 24/7 reported. The woman said it was just a special glue to attach her extensions — but inspectors weren't buying it. Ten bags of cocaine containing a total of 360 grams — or close to a pound — of cocaine were found taped inside her curls, a counter-narcotics official told reporters.
According to the official, the woman — who was coming from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and heading to Nairobi, Kenya — said a South African friend in Buenos Aires was paying her to smuggle the drugs to a man in Johannesburg. The official said the woman had been referred to Dubai authorities.

New idea-Gold Coast club for tall women only

A GROUP of Gold Coast women have taken the high tea to new heights.
Amid the tourist strip's high-rise landscape, a group of human skyscrapers have formed an exclusive club, restricted to women over 182cm tall, or six feet in the old scale.
Called "The High Life", the club will meet tonight for an inaugural high tea.
Group founder Anita Tee said the club was designed for tall women who embrace their height.
This isn't a support group for those who feel self-conscious, it's for those who know they are damn tall, it makes them sexy and are out to rock it, she said.
Men over 182cm are also free to attend, but if you are under the magic number, this club is not for you. Sure, it's exclusive, and we won't let short people into the group, but it's all in good fun.

A Dallas transgender woman was issued a ticket for using the women's restroom at an area hospital. Parkland police cited Paula Witherspoon, whose legal name is Paul Witherspoon, for disorderly conduct on April 25."It was definitely humiliating, degrading," she said. I felt like I was being discriminated against. For more, visit NBCDFW.com
A Parkland Hospital representative said the hospital received a complaint from a concerned female patient about a man in the women's restroom. This is 2012, and I've been transitioning since 2006, and I've never had a problem until I went to Parkland Hospital," Witherspoon said.
Witherspoon said she doesn't even remember seeing anyone else in the restroom until she walked out. "There was a lady there that said, 'That's a man.' I just ignored her and kept going," Witherspoon said.Minutes later, a Parkland officer came over and cited her, she said. Witherspoon said she offered to show the officer a transition letter from her doctor that states, "She is expected to use facilities consistent with her external presentation, which is female."
