So Low-Woman jailed for stealing cemetery urns
SARNIA, ONT. - A woman who sold brass flower urns stolen from a cemetery to support a drug habit has been sentenced to 45 days in jail. Leanne Vansickle, 21, pleaded guilty Thursday in Sarnia, Ont., court to theft, use of a stolen credit card, possession of the stolen urns, failing to attend court and a court-order violation over the past eight months.
Vansickle was “hooked” on prescription drugs and her crimes were feeding the habit, said defence lawyer Robert McFadden. On Jan. 24, Vansickle and two other people sold 16 brass flower urns to a scrap dealer. They’d been reported stolen earlier in the day by a cemetery caretaker. One of the trio was sentenced to 85 days in jail and the other is still before the courts.
Why- Sushi shop sign too offensive for neighbourhood (Fukyu)
MONTREAL - A Quebec Superior Court flipped the bird to sushi restaurant Fukyu. The name "Fukyu" might be a Japanese word for a form of martial arts, but a judge ruled in August that it was "clearly inappropriate" in the Montreal context. Sushi bar owner John De Melo, 28, told QMI Agency he wanted to name his Montreal resto something "catchy and Japanese. We didn't think it would be inappropriate." So the sign outside his
restaurant read "Fukyu" since last February. By July, De Melo's landlord began receiving complaints from other tenants. The landlord, L.G. Plaza, filed a lawsuit claiming De Melo was obliged to get consent before erecting the sign that the landlord claimed was provocative. Judge Kirkland Casgrain agreed and ordered De Melo to hide the offensive words within 24 hours of the court ruling, which was released at the end of August. De Melo said he didn't think the ruling would have negative impact on his business.

After every video, another plays afterward of Hadziahmetovic, speaking directly into the camera and saying,"If you liked this clip, vote for me."According to The Associated Press, Hadziahmetovic has a slim chance of winning October’s upcoming election. There was no immediate information of how the explicit videos have affected traffic on his site or his numbers in any polls.Hadziahmetovic’s last minute effort to garner votes also involves a “Your ad could be here” space at the bottom of the PDF file that contains his official platform on his official site.
